Judy Rakowsky is an award-winning journalist with 26 years experience as a newspaper staff writer and editor. She spent 14 of those years at the Boston Globe, with an emphasis on legal issues and law enforcement, including coverage of organized crime and hate crimes. Her stories led to the removal of a corrupt judge and helped prompt a House Speaker in Massachusetts to resign. Her current freelance clients include People Magazine, Money Magazine, the Washington Post and the Boston Globe. Rakowsky teaches journalism at Boston University and advises the student paper at Bentley University. She is writing a book about discovering her roots in Poland with a cousin who survived the Holocaust.

Stephanie Schorow is a Boston-area freelance writer and author with more than 30 years of experience in print journalism. She has written four nonfiction books, including The Crime of the Century: How the Brink's Robbers Stole Millions and the Hearts of Boston, East of Boston: Notes from the Harbor Islands, and Boston on Fire: A History of Fires and Firefighting in Boston. After stints at various newspapers and the Associated Press, she worked 12 years as a lifestyles editor and writer for the Boston Herald, including writing a weekly column on Internet issues. She has worked as a freelance writer for the Boston Globe, doing entertainment and lifestyles features and music and restaurant reviews. Schorow has written freelance articles for the MIT news office, the Harvard University Gazette, the Boston College magazine, and numerous publications. She also writes and shoots photographs for regional and international travel stories. Her newest enterprise is a consulting service for New England book authors to help them connect with their target readers via mainstream and new media. Using her media contacts and own experience, Schorow will work with authors to devise a media/promotion plan that fits their needs and budget.

An expert in terrorism, Berger has also covered business, technology and science for regional and national publications and public radio.

Multifaceted Media offers editorial services from talented and proven journalists, editors and authors. Our in-house project management offers editors with decades of experience. We've worked with bestselling authors and award-winning reporters in book, magazine and newspaper formats. We also offer specialists in business and online writing and a related suite of Publisher Services.
Multifaceted Media offers two ways to build a job:
Contract Directly
If you have a simple job and want to keep your overhead low, you can negotiate directly with our affiliated freelance consultants. Your primary business relationship will be with the freelancer you select; optional administrative support is available for a fee. . Rates for direct contract jobs can be hourly, per project or per word. You negotiate fees directly with the freelance consultant (meet our team).
Managed Projects
When you have a complicated job requiring multiple people and skill sets acting in a coordinated manner, you can hire the company instead of searching for individuals. We'll assemble and manage a team for you -- selecting the best fit from our in-house and freelance talent, with management done in-house. Managed projects are billed hourly, at rates from $40 to $150 per hour, with most jobs falling in the lower third of that range. A refundable deposit is required, from which a kill fee may be deducted if applicable. You will be invoiced every two weeks with payment due in 15 days.

Our company is a hybrid structure, combining full-time staff and formal relationships with freelance professionals to provide customers with tremendous flexibility in designing and booking projects.
